A Continuing Tradition
Holy Family Home is a unique and special gift that was born of a caring community of Catholic Sisters and sustained through the efforts of those graced by a giftedness of time, talent and treasure.
Holy Family Home was founded in 1956 by the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, New York who opened a total of seven homes throughout the nation, caring for individuals with incurable cancer. That same caring tradition continues today at Holy Family Home in Parma, Ohio. However, our services are not limited to those with cancer, but to individuals who are diagnosed with any life-limiting illness and in need of loving, compassionate care.
Thanks to the Diocese of Cleveland and foresight of those in leadership at Catholic Charities and St. Augustine Manor, Holy Family Home joined the St. Augustine Health Ministries when the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne retired in 2004.
As we build upon the legacy of the Sisters, we continue to offer our patients excellent care and services, regardless of their financial status, religion, national origin, race, sex, or age. Holy Family Home continues to rely heavily upon the generosity of people who support this ministry through direct donations.
